Education

Medway’s local offer has been developed in collaboration with the local authority, schools, academies and free schools in the local area. This is essential so that the local information provides a comprehensive, transparent and accessible picture of the range of services parents and young people can expect from their education setting. These services are regularly reviewed to ensure the sufficiency of the provision and that the local offer is responsive to the needs of local children, young people and their families.

Providing information about approaches to teaching, adaptations to the curriculum and learning environment of SEND children and young people, services also include assessing and reviewing pupils’ and progress towards outcomes, including how providers work with parents and young people in doing so.

In this section, parents are able to find and identify educational settings supporting families of children with SEND. Details of how parents and young people can find support to help children and young people move between phases of education from early years to school; and from primary to secondary are available in this area. Other information for young adults includes apprenticeships, traineeships and supported internships.
